Amit Gupta has started an unofficial Tumblr survey. If you’re a Tumblr, be sure to participate in this quick and anonymous survey. The results should be interesting, or as Amit put’s it, “Maybe it’ll be fascinating! Maybe it’ll be as dull as dirty socks! We’ll find out!”.

Take advantage of the Tumblr tagging field to give your readers another way to filter and browse your content. Some options for tagging include:
Tumblr Tag Cloud Generator
Enter the URL for your Tumblr site (e.g. yourname.tumblr.com) to generate a cloud of links from all of your tags. Tags can be generated alphabetically or by frequency. Once you have the cloud, grab the script code and paste it into your Tumblr’s HTML. Here’s my tag cloud:
Easy Tag Filtering
An easy way to filter your tags is by simply using your Tumblr URL. Simply paste your tag keyword at the end your Tumblr URL as follows: http://YOURTUMBLRNAME.tumblr.com/tagged/TAG
I’ve tagged my Tumblr quotations here – http://angelacw.tumblr.com/tagged/quotations
Read more about tag filtering on the Tumblr Staff blog.

Tumblr is my favourite microblogging site.
Why do I love Tumblr so much? Simplicity.
Want to learn more about Tumblr? Take a look at Todd Wickersty’s Tumblr 101. It’s a great primer for Tumblr newbies, and covers all the features and benefits of a tumblelog. Todd also has an interview with Marco Arment, Lead Developer of Tumblr.
The other great thing about Tumblr is the strong user community. Tumblr users love to share their hacks and interact with each other.

I’ve had a Tumblr blog for awhile now. My Tumblr blog is a scrapblog of links, videos, news, and anything else that I “tumblr” upon in my travels on the web.
Tumblelogs are miniblogs — a fast way to share links, photos, and videos without the bells and whistles of a regular blog. Check out Wikipedia’s definition of tumblogs. Tumblr is a product of Davidville. The Tumblr definition is simple: if blogs are journals, tumblelogs are scrapbooks.
Ability to easily create 6 types of posts: text, photos, quotes, links, conversations, and videos. A “Share on Tumblr” bookmarklet for Internet Explorer and Firefox makes it easy to post ad-hoc from within your browser. Posting to your blog is truly quick, fast and easy!
The ability to import RSS feeds as links including Flickr, Delicious, Digg, Twitter, LastFM, WordPress, VOX, Blogger, LiveJournal, and YouTube.
Six themes to choose from and the ability to customize your own theme. How much you customize and hack your Tumblr is entirely up to you.
The Tumblr Dashboard lets you quickly add other users to your list of friends. Tumblr has a great community of users who are avid about sharing their hacks, tips, and tools!

Here’s a list of some of my favourite Tumblr blogs.
Projectionist is the first Tumblr blog with an interesting arrangement of content in it’s archives.
Tumblr Hacks defines itself as “tips, suggestions and hacks to master your Tumblr space.” Denis blogs about tools to add blog functionality to a Tumblr blog including comment software, search functionality, traffic feeds, and themes.
Caterpol 2.0 is another Italian blog (with some content in English). Features gadgets, technology and Web 2.0 links.
Questo non è un blog “This is not a blog.” Tommaso has implemented search functionality which is not typical of Tumblr blogs. Includes reviews of new gadgets and Web 2.0 tools.
Oh, and yes, most of these blogs are in Italian only. Tumblelogs are very popular in Italy. How popular? Take a look at the extensive Italian Tumblelog Diretory.

I Tumblr at mélange tumblelog, but not in Italian. :-)
