The list is a follow-up to their previous report on the top Twitter clients and the RWW Guide to the World’s Most Popular Twitter Clients.

The top 5 overall applications are:

* Twhirl
* Mobypicture
* Twitterfeed
* Twitteriffic
* Terraminds micro search

I’m a big fan of both Twhirl and Twitterfeed.

Twitter tools round-up : part 2

I blogged recently about my favourite microblogging service, Twitter. I’m spending less time on Facebook and more time on Twitter these days. A recent article in the Toronto Star, “Forget Facebook, Everyone’s a-Twitter“, confirms I’m not alone.

Just as Twitter’s popularity increases, so do the number of 3rd party applications and clients that work with it.

Here are few more Twitter tools since my last round-up:

A desktop client for Mac OS X, Windows and Linux which runs on Adobe AIR. Allows you to post tweets, view your timeline and public timeline from your desktop. Spaz has a slick user-interface.

I mentioned twhirl in my last round-up. Like Spaz, twhirl allows you to post tweets and view Twitter timelines from the desktop using Adobe AIR. The interface is more Twitter-esque. It has the added benefit of allowing you to connect to multiple Twitter accounts, shorten-long urls and cross-post to Pownce and Jaiku.

Twittersoap is a mashup of Mobypicture and Twitter. Twittersoap adds an extra layer on Twitter and Mobypicture. Mobypictures supports cross-posting to Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, Blogger, and Jaiku.
